I recently heard a *glass* CD that is the current rage in Hong Kong. A reviewer played it for us at the factory on a highly resolving system, comparing against the polycarbonate equivalent. The difference was so great that I suspect the glass CD may have been remastered, but simply don't know.
The glass CD was said to be $1500 (I assume USD and not HKD, which would still be almost $200 USD) and is tempered or somehow treated to be extremely durable - virtually scratch-free and the reviewer dropped it on the floor - covered with thin industrial carpeting with no underpad - without ill effect.
Pretty damned amazing if it were made from the same master, very interesting if not.
