If one lacks understanding of the basic priciples of mechanical energy, including its primary sources, behavior, materials, interactioins with disparate objects, etc, then performing such measurements (by anybody, not just you) is little more than a lick and promise, a token, or half-assed effort at best. Not just in regard to the speaker but also to the performance and fidelity of the measusring instruments and any ensuing results are nothing more than a huge box of chocolates.
Regarless of how long they've been performing such measurements. In other words, in such cases there's little to no value, except for readers who have even less knowledge than the one performing the measurements.
