One has to be extremely careful here, not to confuse coincidence with correlation. I remember one time reading a test that JA published where the impedance wrinkle was 5% or 10% away from the frequency of the panel resonance as measured with his accelerometer. But like many scientists who publish papers in peer-reviewed journals, he fudged the numbers (in his head) to conclude in writing that the two different phenomena were actually the same.
I'd have to see the actual review to which you are referring before making a judgment. As noted, I have never seen a wrinkle in an impedance curve that was could be traced back to a "panel resonance" (or even a panel support resonance - although admittedly a panel support resonance is fairly different from a panel resonance.
