David is a brilliant designer, one of the few really creative designers. Every other review of a Berning amp I've seen has been a total rave including many from England including Roy Gregory who I tend to like a lot. I haven't gotten my Stereophile issue yet so I can't comment on the article. But just as a guess I wonder if it may not be a matter of taste in amps. Herb is not the regular middle of the road reviewer(which does usually make him fun).
