RE: IMHO, that opening harp part in Tzigane is not so easy

Chris, I had a feeling we'd have your take on the piano version. Thanks. Without comparing scores note for note, I'd bet that for the section "quasi cadenza" the piano and harp parts are identical.

Actually though it's not a piano reduction. The piece was originally composed (and published) for violin and piano, and very soon thereafter he orchestrated the piano part.

Of course Ravel did do reductions, most famously perhaps for La Valse.
