Yes, the one with Jones. The one with Norman is terrible unfortunately: really harsh early digital sound and, IIRC, poor, uneven tempo choices/phrasing.I've been meaning to get around to hearing Karajan's VPO 7: will do so soon. I wish there were more Beethoven symphony recordings I enjoyed: for all of the ones out there, there are only a small minority that I cherish.
Likewise, the remastered Monteux set on Eloquence is an improvement over the earlier Decca releases. The upper frequency glare is gone (albeit it is still limited in spaciousness and richness in line with its age).
