I recently bought the Muller led Trout after listening a couple of times on Spotify. It's lively and very good; better than I expected. I too find the Curzon/Vienna a bit restrained. The Serkin led group at Marlboro is a delight. So many other star ensembles seem to miss the essential qualities.
I'm exploring and so far enjoying, the Trio Wanderer and Braley/Capucon led groups.
My favorite though is the Campanella, Sirbu led group on a UNICEF benefit disc, sadly, apparently now unavailable. Exuberant (without being driven) and joyful with great playing and sound.
