Their programming is just SO boring. We make the effort to travel to Philly, Boston...even New Jersey(!) -- much better programs.
As far as Jaap van Zweden...what can I say? Between the reconstruction project on Geffen Hall and the pandemic -- along with the fact that the combination have produced very little in the way of recordings -- NY has been a GHOST TOWN for classical music for several years.
I'll finish on a sour note -- any conductor worth their salt would be wise to stay away from NY. There is no there there.
