Maurice Ravel originally wrote his Pièce en forme de Habanera for bass voice and piano. The bass voice part has been described as extremely difficult. He later transcribed it for cello and piano, and the floodgates opened for arrangements on almost any instrument you can think of. Versions with soprano voice are also popular.
However, I haven't found a recording of the original version for bass voice. Does anybody know of one? I think it would sound fantastic with bass voice. Qobuz lists over a hundred recordings of the Habanera. I haven't looked at each of them, but at first glance I don't see any with bass voice.
