Kinetic (punchy execution), endless inner detail, period instruments with immense character, close-up recording perspective. I need to listen to the new multi-symphony Savall Beethoven set again...it didn't grab me initially the way I thought it would. I do know that the new Eroica doesn't displace the older recording, and I agree with your enthusiasm for Savall's first pass, Overture and all!
