I didn't mention provocation ... however, when threads here turn away from
music, those that create, perform, record it, and distribute it, there have been posters who have registered complaints; as I said 'I do seem to recall some posts to that effect' and those 'inmates' become far more infrequent contributors or have withdrawn altogether ... take that observation for what it's worththe second element of the observation is that often posts of a political nature that I've seen deleted from Central 'enjoy' far more traction and shelf life when posted here in kind, and indeed with a measure of encouragement; despite a far more balanced 'moderation' approach one would think that those certainly fall outside of the scope and 'mission statement' of this forum, so take that observation for what it's worth as well
if your reaction is defensive and prompts a visceral 'if you don't like it lump it' response perhaps look back over the posts in this thread and ask yourself ... 'if TWB & RV817 are basically agreeing on something shouldn't I pay attention?' that in itself should inspire a bit more detached consideration of those issues deserving your attention
I may not offer as much to this forum as an infrequent visitor and less sophisticated musician and fan of the classics than others more dedicated to it, but I do enjoy exploring other's opinions, perceptions, and recommendations here, but as a student of human nature in all it's soiled glory, in this instance feel obligated to give input as a reviewer of the forum itself ... and you can take that for what it's worth too!
I hope that I articulated myself effectively enough this time that the message isn't lost to preconceptions on the nature of the post OR poster
