I am concerned at the colour purple in the initial letter shown. Purple was a rare and expensive pigment during the mediaeval period and when used did not have the opaque characteristic of the colour in the example (see link). Its high cost would also have mitigated against its use outside of a strictly high status context. I am no expert and may be easily disproved but for the time being remain suspicious of the example.
