RE: Original or 1940's re-orch? What happened to the "O"

It's the original 1911 version.

Is there or is there not an "o" in the name? Rendering the Cyrillic alphabet into the Latin alphabet can involve a degree of choice as there may not be exact phonetic equivalents. Looking through 141 different recordings of the ballet and the piano three movement transcription, only 8 use the "o" and of these 4 are American issues , 3 German and 1 Dutch. All other 133 issues do not use an "o" and that includes French ( which given the location of the premiere may also be considered as an original spelling), Australian and even translations made by Russian labels into English. So nothing happened to the "o". It just isn't commonly used.
