The Planets. For me he is the only one that captures first the menacing scourge of war and in Jupiter (which is my favorite part of the piece) gets the tempo just right. I also like Roy Goodman's recording on (wait for it!) HIP instruments! It's really quite good. AFA Boult goes, I like his recording with the Vienna State Opera Orchestra. I read somewhere that it was his favorite out of all his recordings of the piece. In that recording, Venus and Saturn IMO are unsurpassed and hauntingly beautiful as they should be... The playing is rough in spots, but the performance is just wonderful and it is easy to hear why he liked it so....
