The "subtle nuances" is what drives my interest in classical music....

and my constant quest for that "reference" recording of a given work... As you pointed out, rarely do those come across well in vinyl... To each their own when it comes to vinyl. I DO however understand the nostalgia factor in it's resurgence and interest. The problems and quality of sound it produces I'm sure to some is debatable but not to me... At the very least storage of one media vs. the other and the footprint required can NOT be denied. That alone was reason enough for me to abandon it in favor of the then newer format... C'est La Vie....
