Gergiev - is he not the Russian composer, being the one on my White Nights cd with Kirov being the orchestra? (I'd check, but I'm at the office hard at work here :) So, this same conductor and symphony do the Romeo and Juliet deal too? And it was on vinyl? How about that CD, can you give me any info on it so I may track it down? Or do I just ask the local music store to get Romeo & Juliet and specify Gergiev as conductor with the Kirov orchestra? Now, I'm assuming Prokofiev is Russian, so that would be another case of a Russian orchestra being conducted by a Russian conductor, playing music of a Russian composer? Makes sense to me!
If memory serves me correctly, you have that White Nights, but under a different name as White Nights was for the American market?
BTW - Where are you from Rob? The Netherlands ring a bell for some reason..... Good ole Holland, home of my favorite band - The Legendary Pink Dots!
