Home Classical Court

From Perotin to Prokofiev (and beyond), performed by Caruso to Khatia, it's all here.

RE: I think that kind of "accurate" system should be a kind of starting point anyway

"'deemed' accurate? How so? It's actually quite easy to determine the accuracy of any system from the source to the speaker terminals. Nothing need be 'deemed.'"

I don't think there is a reliable way to certify any audio component or system as "accurate"..... We may try, and try excruciatingly hard, but there is a jump of faith in regard to whether it is truly "accurate".... (If we do encounter something truly accurate, we may not even realize it.)

I think "accurate" recreates the sonic qualities of the real thing..... But such a rig might not necessarily be "accurate" from an objective measurements standpoint. A truly accurate system would excel in both criteria, but nobody would really know if a given system even meets the criteria.... For even if there is a system that meets the criteria, the owner or a listener may still notice flaws in the sonic presentation. (Which could be from the recording as well as the system.)
