From Perotin to Prokofiev (and beyond), performed by Caruso to Khatia, it's all here.

"So. . . whence with your "three dimensional acoustic sound wave [singular]?"

Yeah, the objective sound waves at the venue (the waveform) is a singular entity. But will be heard differently from different listening positions. A building is a singular structure but if you look at it from three different places you will get three different views. That is why it doesn't work as an objective reference. that is why neither would work as an objective reference for accuracy

"But if the results from the three different locations are to be accurate, they HAVE to be different."

Indeed, that is why just listening from one position does not work as an objective measure of the original waveform. Again, we are talking about objective accuracy. In audio we can objectively measure an electrical signal quite accurately. It is after all just a one dimensional signal in time. It's easy to measure and easy to replicate with absolute audible accuracy. acoustic waveforms are hard as fuck to document and you sure as heck can't do it with a set of microphones or a set of ears. It is a very illusive thing to accurately document.

"Yes, perhaps I should have stated this explicitly up front: my two-pronged approach towards assessing accuracy has an objective element (measurements) and a subjective element (experiential memory). "

I know. And that is one of the problems with even calling this a measure of accuracy. A measure of "accuracy" pretty much requires an objective reference and a reliable accessible metric for gauging deviation.
