And my contention that people build up an aural memory over time is, indeed, not a fact - it's an assertion I'm making. And it's not true for everyone - only for listeners who have reached a certain threshold of listening and awareness.
Regarding your first point, we'll have to disagree then - you're trying to shoehorn live listening experiences into a single POINT of reference, when in fact they're nothing of the kind. Like Bush Sr. used to say, it's a thousand points of light!
