I played trumpet in jazz band...... I actually wanted to play it in a symphony orchestra...... I was playing classical passages....... By ear, of course......I haven't played trumpet for over 30 years...... I actually ruined my instrument...... The years of non-use seized the valves..... I couldn't get them "un-stuck"...... The music repair technician told me the non-use of the instrument caused the inner surfaces of the pistons to oxidize and pit, and would need to be re-conditioned...... The price was too great for me to do that, I ended up selling it cheap to Goodwill.....
