I still have both LPs and CDs in my small collection. The LPs are still around because of the music or the performances.
I was listening to Alexis Weissenberg perform Debussy pieces yesterday, and I don't believe an LP could have conveyed W's dynamism, unless it were the very best LP on a $25-30K system.
