I purchased these spades a few months ago and crimped the "crimp" sleeve using a 10" plier type No.909 crimper. This particular crimper has the perfect size tang, or whatever you call it, to squeeze the wire (stranded) and sleeve into the trough, the finished product being an extremely tight connection.Ended up cutting them off a few weeks later returning to my preferred bare wire method of connection.
If the cable you are using is solid core crimping will not provide a reliable connection so would recommend soldering directly to the spade without the sleeve in that case.
