Tube Cadet, I have had the same experience with the Cardas cable. I used the 11.5 hookup wire and I used the twisted pair of 11.5 and the latter was better to use because it was already twisted and in a pvc jacket. I will say that you must have a solder pot or one very hot soldering iron to get the enamel to leave the copper. The enamel neds at least 900 degrees to melt. You did some work. Sounds like it was worth it. Also, I thought the sound was great from the cable. Happy listening, Jallen
