I had my component video connected with a monster product called "MonsterVideo*3 High Performance Ultra Fine Resolution Maximum Velocity Video Interconnect Cable". I repleced this cable with a 1 meter length of Transparent Audio "High Performance Component Video Cable". As far as I can tell there is no difference whatsoever in the picture despite the 3x difference in price. I, like yourself, tried to see a difference and could see none.In my case the source was a Sony CDP550 DVD machine and a KV36-XBR250 TV
I agree with you, if it didn't work any better -- take it back. Take your other cable with you and show them the "Difference"
