Hi bz,As a side note I think that the cable that is ordinarily used for sprinkler systems might possibly make a good in-ground cable for outdoor speakers. Get the 8 conductor type. Strip one end enough to see how the conductors are arranged, then chose every other color as positive and the in-between colors as negative.
Reasoning is: solid core, unplated copper, available in multi-conductor, dirt cheap. (pun intended)
