I know it is lame to blame my wife but she did insist we purchase 2 TIC omni (360 degree) speakers to be buried among the many flowers in our back yard and provide music on the deck and patio. My preference was to mount more conventional-type speakers either along the fence or under the eaves, but the least conspicuous solution (I guess) were these flat, circular jobs half buried in dirt.Fine, now how to drive these babies. Three (3) possibilities, all of which involve long (50'+)speaker cable runs. There is no getting around this.
Option 1: connect speaker cables directly to HT receiver in family room. This involves longest speaker cable run of about 70 feet.
Option 2: Run IC from pre-out on receiver to 2nd amp in basement and drive speakers = 25 feet or so IC, but speaker cable is now about 30 feet each.
Option 3: Purchase a bare-bones receiver and CD player for basement and drive speakers via 30 foot speaker cables w/o IC.
#3 is probably the ideal option, but which of the other 2 are least offensive?
It pains me to say I'm not expecting audiofool quality here, but it is instinct to strive for the best choice.
Thanks,
bz
