I have been using silver with my Rowland ConcentraII which uses as you know is the 112 and Synergy preamp. I made the speaker cable and I am using silver for CD to preamp which I also made. I experience no harshness. My speakers are the Nestorovic 5AS MKIV. The cable is all stranded. Solid core is too harsh for speaker cable in my system. I have found cable to be easy to distinguish with the Rowland due to the revealing nature of the Rowland. Give silver(pure) a chance, the detail and speed is amazing. Jallen
