When I bought my Hifi man HE 560s,I thought that there was a limited range of volume that sounded "decent".
I spoke with YFS (Your Final System) about the cables that he offered for the HiFiman models.He suggested a copper litz wire and built up a 5' cable for the 560.
What a difference that cable made !
I regained the full spectrum of volume settings and the phones sounded remarkable.
I really don't understand selling phones that good and putting a P.O.S. cable on them.
That short cable problem may have saved your ears from a mediocre experience.
