Common complaint about early-90s Thiels

This post has generated lots of email feedback. Readers brought up what dish the girl was making; their experiences with the speaker cables mentioned (or the brands' other models); beaches; which girl Steve ended up with; the music of Oleta Adams and Brenda Russell; and of course, the vilified Thiel binding posts.

I had both the CS.5 and CS1.5. Sound Anchor offered an elegant solution: 12"-tall stands. These stands (a) allowed for a taller soundstage, and (b) greatly cleaned up and distinguished the bass. As an added bonus, by placing the speakers 12" above ground, you now could route spade-equipped cables up to the Thiels' binding posts.

Alas, for the larger models above the CS1.5, Sound Anchors made a base, not a stand. This base did not really make connecting cables any easier (that is not the fault of the base).
