In single-ended form, the Kimber Kable Silver Streak originally came with their UltraPlate RCA. This RCA plug is responsible for much of the "brightness" associated with Kimber's KC-1, PBJ, SS, and KCAG interconnects.
In the mid-90s, Kimber became the distributor for WBT, and began to offer the locking-barrel 0147 RCA. Although the latter, like all locking-barrel plugs, is klutzy to use, it does offer more accurate sonics, than the UltraPlate RCA.
In 2003, we picked up an audiodharma Cable Cooker. This is the key to unlocking cables' performance. The very first products we placed on the Cooker were identical 1-meter pairs of Kimber PBJ. A mere two days on the Cable Cooker effects more improvement, than 25 years (or any length) of regular playing time.
Of the dozens of PBJ, SS, and KCAG I've Cooked, none had signal flow arrows. Therefore, we simply Cooked them in the direction of the writing on the heatshrink wrap. If you've got a better rule of thumb, we're all ears :-)
Due to damage, many Kimber PBJ/SS/KCAG get re-terminated with other-brand RCA plugs. If you like the stock SS wire, by all means, go with another RCA plug of your choosing.
