I've personally reviewed myriad brands, but most of the products belong to other audiophiles. When it comes to cable burn-in devices, I have not discussed this topic with any manufacturer. Nor am I aware of any of my audiophile friends doing so. Salespeople, yes. My own audiophile friends, no.
The closest to broaching this topic was probably you relaying that Pranawire products had been on The Lotus Group's Cable Cooker for X number of days.
As always, if owners of the cables sent to me give me permission, I'll review the cables. USPS has been slow, so cross-country shipments (alas, many of the owners live in the Eastern time zone) have been taking no less than a week. That said, we hope to start reviewing a "different" cable perhaps as soon as this week. And no, neither the owner nor I has ever had any contact with the manufacturer.
My friends and I had hoped that there would be little or no differences in or between 5-pin XLR DC cables. Alas...
In high-end audio, the use of 4-pin and 5-pin XLR cables is small. Accordingly, just a small handful of audiophiles has inquired about them. Yeah, these are typically guys who are already well-versed in using a burn-in device on standard cables. That may be a case of preaching to the choir, but you gotta start somewhere. Eventually, word gets out, perhaps even to the manufacturers.
