There are a bazillion speaker cables out there, and the number of amp-
speaker combinations is several orders of magnitude higher. So no matter
which cable you eventually choose for your system, there's always something "better" out there. So you must submit yourself to the fact
that you're never going to find the "ultimate" cable; but you can find one - or more! - that you like.
I've been using a particular cable for a while now, and I find nothing to
dislike about it. Highs are high and lows are low and the mid range is
sweet. What's not to like? That does not mean I don't want to try other
cables.
I have narrowed my "search" temporarily to the following, for no reason
that I can actually justify other than I like what I read about them:
1. Kimber 8tc or 12tc (I am intrigued by the design)
2. Anticables level 2.1 (solid, 12 gauge)
3. Bluejeanscable 10 gauge (stock Belden 5t00up)
There aren't break-the-bank expensive nor are they exotic designs. What
they have in common is fairly large gauge wire, which seems to be one of,
if not the, primary consideration(s) for speaker cables.
I have not tried any of the above, nor am I likely to in the near-term.
I'm going to piss away my money on more/new music and travel for now,
both of which are more rewarding than wire.
