All sorts of variables here. :)

That comparison is valid....but only for that particular guitar/pickup combination. Switch to a different guitar/pickup (or even multiple pickups on the same Strat) and that whole subjective evaluation is irrelevant and would need re-doing.

A much better (cable) comparison would be to connect the single-pickup Strat via a short cable (which stays constant) to an active buffer with low output impedance and then drive all 12 cables again.
