Pre-amplifier filtering is the only way to bandwidth-limit the work of the amplifier in BOTH voltage and current.
Passive-biamping (what a stupid term) splitting a high-level crossover removes a portion of the current load from a particular source, but the voltage drive remains the same and out-of-band potential voltage clipping still has the ability to inflict itself into the passband.And this not even mentioning the logical progression of removing the high-level crossovers.
After so many years, the misunderstanding from audiophiles on this topic still amazes me.
