Vampire makes sturdy binding posts that are reasonably priced. They offer two lengths and two levels of quality/price: brass with gold plate and copper with direct gold plate.
You can tin the ends of leads with good solder and wrap the wire directly around the threaded portion between the two nuts, or solder them to the tabs on the ends of the posts. I doubt that whichever method you use will make or break the sound of your system. I've tried bare wire wrapped around and found that it does corrode before too long. I've tried tinned wire wrapped around. That's very secure, yet convenient if you plan to dismantle your connections in the future. I've soldered leads directly. Can't say for sure that I could detect a difference in sound among those three methods. I wouldn't use spades there because something might loosen and the spades could touch, plus then you're adding even another connection.
