Hello inmates.
I am new to AC cord upgrade concerns. I recently purchased an AQ NRG2---got a terrific deal on it new---less than $50 delivered.
I have not been able to find a definitive answer (if there is one) to its intended application.
when I use it to run my Sahnling A3000 integrated (200 watts, dual mono, dual transformers with built in tube buffer), I get increased soundstage width and better detail retrieval, when I use it to run my Rotel RCD 1070, I get a deeper soundstage with better bass extension. Given the choice between the two applications, I leave it in the amp.
I now want to buy a second power cord to replace the stock one still in this 2-unit system.
My question is this:
Should I leave the AQ where I like it and buy a new cord for the CDP? Or is the AQ intended for the CDP and I'd do better with a new one for the amp?
BTW, I'm going to spend about $75 on the next cable. I'm thinking either a VH or Signal.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
