It would be difficult to give you advice about your DIY CAT-5 cables without actually examining them and listening with them: how can anyone here know how well or poorly you made them?If you don't believe that cables and power cords can possibly make a difference, then you must think that those of us who do are victims of our own wishful thinking. It is hard to get past this point and take your further questions seriously.
