I had a VK-200 for a couple of years which I ran balanced with the VK-5i and a balanced CD player (Sony XA7ES). I used Nordost Blue Heaven balanced throughout. I found the combination (with ProAc 2Ss) to be spacious, airy and detailed, with lots of transient snap. If the rest of your system is bright, it might stay bright, because these cables, I think, are as neutral as the 5i is. The 200 tends towards smoothness and the ProAcs towards romanticism, so for me it was a nice balance.
