Avanti,I haven't used Cardas... As you guessed after my experience with the "warm" Monocle XL I decided I didn't need the warmth if it meant smudging detail and soundstage and Cardas is famous for being reasonably warm (which is fine if it works for you). My decision was ultimately between TG Audio and Audience. Based on reviews in Positive Feedback and comments on this site I decided to go with the TG Audio, but I am willing to bet that Audience sounds fantastic with Audio Physic speakers. The only question is whether it is too lean for the speakers. Ultimatly I decided in my case, with my room, it was likely to be but your Avanti's are much fuller sounding than the Tempo's (from what I remember... I've heard them a bunch) and I can't help but wonder if, in the right room, the Audience cable might work well in your case. They offer a free audition so you could just give them a try.
Ideally you could try them against the TG Audio, but yes, for most of us (myself included) you have to be willing to give them a go without an audition. The speaker cable does seem to be showing up on Audiogon, however, so if you can get some used you can probably re-sell it relatively easy if you don't like it.
