Hi there,I first would like to make one Distinction. Any form of multistranding (multiple uninsulated starnds of wire) is to my ears highly detrimental to the sound.
Once we are at a point of pure, solid-core of Litz-Conductors I have found pure silver Cables regulary and reliably being bright and aggressive. If they are not, they tend to have other problems which take the "sheen" off while also removing a lot of the music.
On the other hand pure copper often sounds somewhat "sat upon"....
As a result I use both for my System and for internal wiring mixtures of Solid Copper, Solid Silver, Solid Copper Tape and Copper as well as Silver Litzwire.
To my ears this helps to balance the negative traits of either metal reasonably well.
If i where asked to wire my system either only in Silver or only in Copper, my choice would be Copper with primarily Air-Dielectric which seems to alleviate the "sat-upon" effect mostly.
As for silverplated Copper, I have some Silverplated Copper to sound very good, others very bad.... My favourite "cheap" internal Wire (also usable for other connections and in interconnects) is silverplated OFHC Copper in Kynar (modified Teflon) insulation, commonly sold as wirewrap....
This Wire is 30-Gauge and sounds surprisingly good, considering the extremely low price.
