Originally, I just ran a traditional pair in the standard way. Then I homebrewed a pair of jumpers out of some high quality copper cable and "crosswired" (one 'speaker cable connection to HF, one to LF on the 'speaker side) and the improvement over the stock jumpers was not subtle. But any 'speaker maker that provides for biwiring means you to do things that way (at least the communication I had on the topic with my 'speaker maker, in this case KEF, suggested this). I finally bit the bullet and did a biwired, 10-ft pair of Kimber 4TC and the improvement (especially in the upper freqs, but bass thightend up too) is well worth it. For me, that is.You might even consider a less spendy cable from Straight Wire, such as the "Rhythm", for the lower freqs. (if cost is an issue), or even experiment with some Rat Shack 12-ga or Monster XP...just to see if there's any improvement in YOUR opinion, and if so, upgrade as you see fit and when you feel like it.
Sorry about the long-ish reply, but this is sometimes hotly debated issue that dogged me for over a year so I can relate!
Happy listn'g.
