I recently experienced a similar situation as well after purchasing a pair of Castle Howard speakers with bi-wiring capabilities (to replace my trusty speakers of 10 yrs, KEF 103.3's that did not provide the option to bi-wire). My amp (Densen B-100) also has two sets of binding posts to facilitate the process. After switching from single wire to bi-wire, my first impression was a sense of composure and detail. Before too long, I seemed to sense a lack of "life" or "energy" of some sort which was quite distracting. After a week or so of this sonic dissection, I switched back to a single run of Analysis Plus. Immediately, the energy, life and top-end detail and presence snapped back in. This was not at all subtle. The speakers are quite understated by nature, and it seems that smoothing it out via bi-wiring may have also exaggerated this too much. I'm sure I could continue to experiment with combinations of cabling and may stumble across the ideal "mix", but that's gonna have to wait. Perhaps there are other factors involved with the amp, etc. Who knows...
