I think there can be a lot of reasons bi-wiring and single-wiring sound different.
Different wires and double runs being the most obvious.
Another fallacy is the different-is-better.
Perhaps the best test would be taking a cable that is single-ended at the amp-side and biwired at the pseakers. Then they are shortened (preferably with links from the same LS-wire) at the speakerside.
I would be interested in the outcomes of such an experiment, but have to admit I'm too lazy to do it myself.
