Interconnects, speaker wire, power cords. Ask the Cable Guys.

bi-wiring is for those who like mud in their system

Ok, im just trying to start a discussion here ;)

But seriously, since I have been experimenting with removing my biwire set-up, I am seriously STUNNED by the increase in cohernece in my playback.

No more disembodied bass. no more free-floating, edgy, or glaring upper mids and treble. Want a treat? try listening to harpsichord biwired and single wired. (I am assuming, of course, the other elements of the system are top-notch, as are mine)

So I've come to the following possible position. bi-wiring undoes what designers at THREE different points have tried to accomplish. Amplifier manufacturers try to send a good rounded signal out to the speakers. Speaker manufacturers try to design a good crossover to handle (and blend) the different waveforms of the different frequencies. Cable designers try to design a cable that can elegantly handle large current swings and delicate nuances at the same time. bi-wiring barges in boorishly and says, hey, no, I think I know better.

Free yourself of your prejudice about the "more is better" cable philosophy, and try *good* cables in single runs. I am a cnvert, and this is gonna be my curmudgeon point for a while ;)
