Problem with spades

Hello fellow inmates. I have a question. I just put together a 2 channel system. Arcam Alpha 9, ProAc Response 1SC, and Cardas Quadlink 5C with factory terminated rodium spades. The ProAcs accept the spades no problem but the Arcam seems to only work with bananas. So I inserted a decent set of UltraLink locking bananas into the Arcam Alpha 9 them hooked up the Cardas spades onto the Ultralink bananas. My question is this. Does this method degrade audio quality? I know that bare wire is best but I'm reluctant to cut the Cardas spades in case I decide to upgrade or sell in the future. Any input would be appreciated.
