ADS L880's mated with my Carver MXR-130 receiver and I ended up using leftover Kimber (4TC, I think as I may have already sold the 4VS).
If "instantaneous current demand" involves overall dynamics and/or a folding in of the sound stage during complex musical passages, then this was never an issue when the systems were used in a reasonable manner.
All of my setups have had their limitations in regard overall power available, room size, room acoustics, et cetera, but being reasonable (to myself anyway;-) I have always adjusted overall volume/SPL's accordingly.
Anyway, cables such as the ones I use being bass light, thin sounding, lacking harmonic realism, and on and on, has not been my experience @ all.
