While I have not tried the HMS powercords I do have a pair of the Grand Finale interconnects between my SACD player and preamp, which replaced a pair of Nordost Quattro Fils. I was prepared to buy the Nordost Valhallas, but based upon many reviews here I decided to try the HMS cables. All I can say is that they bettered the Quattro Fils in EVERY regard and while I did not compare them to a pair of Valhallas, which I do use between my preamp and amp, the cost difference makes them an outstanding purchase.I will say that the difference in sound was similar when I replaced the Quattro Fils with Valhallas betwen amp and preamp.
