If you cannot hear the difference then you've certainly chosen the wrong hobby.There are many reason why cables DO make a dramatic difference and it is not necessarily just inductance, capacitance or resistance as it is popular to indicate.
Perhaps you should take a gander at something called HyperPhysics on the web at: http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/hph.html
If you study this and learn from it, perhaps you will begin to understand why everything in an audio system makes a difference and how focusing on a single piece of the puzzle - when looking for a solution - is not the answer.
