Or the original RD? The Rev. II is closer to SPM, though SPM is superior IMO to all versions of RD. I've had both versions of RD, plus SPM, and currently have Quattro Fil ICs. Even the newer version of Red Dawn can sound a bit bright in some systems, good in others. I liked my SPM much better.If you can swing it, there are some good deals on Quattro Fil available now that people are moving to Valhalla. QF is excellent. Speed and openness is charactaristic of all Nordost cables.
Another bang for buck wire is the IC from TG Audio (Bob Crump).
Personally, I don't like to mix and match ICs. I like one brand from source to amp. (I wonder if the RD & HT are a mismatch...very different.)
I've never heard the Gutwire cables.
