That's interesting what you say about Quattro Fil and HMS. I love my Quattro Fil, especially its detailing and speed. IMS it does not sound lean, in fact midrange is glorious and rich (all tubes).Even in reviews of Valhalla IC vs. Quattro Fil, reviewers mention that while Valhalla IC has more bass bloom and "naturalness," Quattro Fil still seems to have more pronounced midrange detail, which is what I like. I suspected that HMS IC probably has richer, fuller sound but I'm glad to hear that Quattro Fil may have more apparent detail, which I think will suit my system better.
